June Bug Summer Wheat

Nine Band Brewing in Allen, Texas delivers sunshine and summer. June Bug Summer Wheat a crisp refreshing ale perfect for a hot summer day.

It pours light golden with a white head. The head faded away quicker than expected , but was well carbonated. June Bug Summer Wheat has a nice citrus and spice nose.

The first taste is tart, citrusy , lightly hopped with no harsh bitterness. Light and golden in the glass. I paired mine today with roasted turkey pesto panini with gruyere. The light flavor of the beer pairs well with spicey and earthy flavor of the pesto and roast turkey.  The summer wheat cleans the pallet of the  slightly salty gruyere cheese and prosciutto

Nine Band has an all star line up of great beers. Cactus Cat Kolsch, Nina Band Pale Ale, Toad Choker Barley Wine to name a few. They began serving up their Texas style beers in 2014.

Nine Band Brewing

The wheat beer always a favorite of mine. The flavor and aroma profile are very distinct. Often reminiscent of banana and cloves. Hop flavors are typically low. Yeast and fermentation drive those aromas and flavors.
